- Our fraud protection policy is set in place to protect you, our customer, and Gear Up For Outdoors Ltd.
- Because online shopping is not a face to face experience, procedures must be put in place to protect all parties involved.
- No exceptions will be made for customers claiming they were unaware of the policy after placing their order.
- Criminals are constantly trolling the Internet. Online stores experience fraud approximately 17 times more often than offline [brick & mortar] stores.
- Any way you look at it, fraud protection makes good business sense.

Any Website Orders or Phone Orders over $250.00 must be accompanied with a Completed Credit Card Authorization Form due to the high incidents of Web and Phone Order Fraud
1. CVV Number
- Credit card orders require the CVV number to be included during card processing.

2. CCA Form
- Credit Card Authorization Forms (CCAF) for CNP transactions [Cardholder not present] are required to verify signatures. This means we will compare your signature on the form to the signature on your credit card.
- The online CCAF is required if:
A. Orders > $250.00 CDN before taxes
- The credit card authorization form must be completed, signed and faxed or emailed back to us.
- A Scanned/copied front and back of the credit card being used.
B. Third Party Orders
- Applies when your billing address is different from your shipping address.
- The credit card authorization form must be completed, signed and faxed or emailed back to us.
- A Scanned/copied front and back of the credit card being used.
C. Other factors
- Using a free web based email address and not an ISP provided email address.
- Unusual quantities.
- Destinations that have a history of large fraudulent transactions.
- Any other reason without explanation.

Please note that some International credit card companies will not let your charge go through until verified by you, the card holder.

This “Identity Theft Protection” policy imposed by your bank is for your protection. Simply put, your bank may see abnormal transactions and may pause processing until authorized by you.
