Returns and Exchanges

Returns

100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not 100% satisfied with any item in your order, simply follow the steps outlined below.

  • You have 21 days upon receipt of your package to return/exchange an item.
  • Any order that is being returned or exchanged will need to be issued an RA# (Return Authorization Number) from our Returns department via email only.
    • Please include the following in your e-mail to sales at gear up:
      • Order #
      • Web receipt #
      • Name [First, Last]
      • Reason [Exchange, Refund, Warranty]
      • Additional detailed comments
  • You will receive an RA# within 12-48 hours.
  • Once you have received the RA# via email from Gear Up For Outdoors Ltd you can pack up your box.
    • Include a copy of original web receipt.
    • Item must be in NEW CONDITION with original tags, packaging and any accessories.
  • Do not ship with a courier as we are not responsible for brokerage fees back into Canada.
    This means that if you do send via courier, you will be charged all expenses incurred.

  • Complete and print out the label with required information [Online label coming soon]
    [ie name/address and RA#]

    Perform the following steps
    • Save file to disk
    • After the file has been opened you must adjust the Page properties
    • Page must be Landscape
    • Set margins at 0.5"
    • Be sure to preview the document before printing
    • You may want to print a second copy for your records or save the file
  • Affix label to your parcel and take to your local post office.
  • You will be required to fill out something similar to a “Customs Declaration Dispatch Form”.
    • On this form you must clearly print:
      • Your address
      • Gear Up For Outdoors' address
      • A detailed description of contents;
        [ie. 1 lg black heli-arctic parka]
      • You must also include within the “description of contents" field
        “RETURNING CANADIAN GOODS, NO DUTIES OR TAXES APPLY”
      • Approx value of contents
        (in your local currency)
      • Do not mark as anything other than “Returned Goods” or you will incur extra charges.
      • Goods must be returned via: INSURED SURFACE POST ONLY!
        (Do not ship via any type of courier!)
  • Upon receipt and examination of your product, an exchange or refund will be given.
Exceptions:
  • If the product is damaged or shows visible signs of use, a partial refund may be issued at our discretion.
  • If the product comes back to us without an RA#, a restocking fee of 15% will be charged.
  • We will only refund the shipping costs if the return is a result of our error.
  • We will not accept returns on special orders or sale items!

 
Warranties

  • We stand behind and warranty only the products that we sell.
  • Our products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Warranty periods will vary from one supplier to the next.
  • We will deal with all warranty issues on an individual basis.
  • Original store receipt is required for any warranty issue.  Please include a copy with the returned goods.
  • When there is a warranty issue, we will do everything to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. For this reason, tracking of your warranty is done through an Return Authorization Number [RA#] issued from our Warranty department.

Things to be aware of

  • You will be required to obtain an RA# prior to returning warranty items.
    Please see the Return instructions at the top of this page.
  • Health and safety issues require that all returning warranty items must be cleaned or charges will apply.
  • All items require a detailed explanation and/or physical markings outlining the problem
    [ie tape/string].
  • At times it is not feasible to ship back products.  In these unique cases, an authorized repair may be performed in your country.
  • Warranty processing generally take 4-8 weeks, depending on where you live.
