RUBBER -THE FOUNDATION
Light-Weight - Durable - Warm - Flexible - Waterproof
Baffin utilizes the latest developments in synthetic rubber technology.  Premium grades of rubber have shown abrasion resistance test results which are up to 125% above those of some traditional vulcanized rubber.

In addition to having similar overall strength properties, their slip resistance and flexibility at extreme cold temperatures also surpass those of vulcanized rubber. These properties, along with their light-weight advantages, have made modern thermo-elastomers the materials of choice for Baffin's Technical Cold Weather Footwear.

 

GELFLEX
Product innovations such as the introduction of GelFlex, a third stage in the injection molding process, have enabled Baffin to make a revolutionary step in footwear performance.

In addition to providing insulation from the frozen terrain, styles that incorporate GelFlex technology absorb the downward force of walking and reduce fatigue. In addition, the flexible GelFlex mid-sole and heel enables Baffin to utilize aggressive sole patterns and employ abrasion resistant compounds without sacrificing comfort.

WINTERPROOF MATERIALS

Performance characteristics such as tensile strength, flexibility, abrasion-tear-puncture resistance, water repellency, thermal resistance, vapour transmission, resistance to salt and other corrosive elements and quick drying time are all key considerations in making final material choices.

 

INNER BOOT SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY
Baffin inner boot systems have raised the standard in thermal resistance and moisture management. Our proven multi-layer technology provides protection from temperatures as low as -100°C*/-148°F* while offering unrivaled foot-conforming comfort. Recognizing "FIT " to be an essential element of both protection and comfort, every Baffin inner boot system is designed to encapsulate the entire foot with functional layers of resilient materials.

   FIT:  In deciding on a suitable size for your feet, keep in mind that Baffin inner-boots will expand & conform to the individual shape of your foot.  After a brief break-in period, the boots will “pack-out” to individual foot contours.

In addition to providing a more precise fit, these cushioned layers trap heat while wicking moisture away from the foot. Working in conjunction with a flexible rubber shell and foot-bed, every Baffin inner boot provides a light-weight, quick drying barrier to even the most unrelenting cold.

ALL ABOUT COMFORT RATING SYSTEMS
Comfort Rating Systems have been developed as a guideline for determining relative thermal insulation values. Activity levels, body metabolism, exposure time, age and other variables may affect your Comfort Rating preference. Comfort Rating values may be reduced over time as normal wear on materials and components occurs.
