The Faber Ojibwa is a Long & Narrow Snowshoe ideal on plains & trails where a snowshoer will meet a more level, open terrain.  Built with two tightly fit cross-bars tenons and a pointy nose, the Ojibwa is a really narrow snowshoe but extra long to offer maximum flotation. 
The narrow form allows for use similar to skis, to explore plains and open fields.
The pointy tip opens a path through grasses and underbrush for an easier walk.
This model was first built in Northern Canada, where smaller trees favored the fabrication of snowshoes in two pieces.
