Bushpro Silvicool III Tarps are common on many tree planting sites! They are essential, as they keep seedlings cool and protect them from the sun. The tarps come in two variants: Bushpro is phasing out the Light Weight Version & replacing with the Mid Weight Tarp & the Heavy Weight Standard Tarp.

Keeping seedlings cool & moisturized is key to their survival. Silvicool III tarps do that, and withstand harsh conditions that planters are often in. Bushpro’s reflective Silvicool tarps have been shown to maintain the temperature of seedlings equivalent to that of deep shade.

The Standard Weight Tarp is strong, durable, and will last for years. The heavier material makes it more tear & puncture resistant than the lightweight & midweight version tarps.
Tarps have sewn loops in the corners & along the sides, to aid in building field caches.
White side out creates a barrier against the sun's heat & wraps closely around boxed seedings to prevent warm air circulation.
