The GV Bear Paw Full Traditional Snowshoe (racquet) model is the second of the best-known racquet shapes. It draws its origins from the Indian nations of eastern Canada and the Canadian Far North, in particular the Innu (Montagnais) nation. It is mainly used for hunting, trapping and hiking in dense forests. Its wide and short shape allows efficient and silent movement in forest regions in addition to offering the best flotation properties in deep snow. This model is also offered in an extended version for increased versatility on open terrain (Traditional Modified Bear Paw Snowshoe).

Built with two tightly fit cross-bars tenons, the bear paw is a shorter but wider model.
Similar in shape to the sport model but lacks a tail.
The lack of tail eases backward steps & maneuverability and helps turning around obstacles, great through dense underbrush.
